The Jeremy Wendelin Quintet: Still Got that Swing

We are excited to welcome saxophonist and bandleader Jeremy Wendelin back to the Nocturne stage as he leads a dynamic quintet of musicians. For this series, Jeremy and the band will be celebrating the work of formative swing musicians late in their careers. In the 1940s and 50s, as modern jazz embraced styles such as bebop, bossa nova, and others, many of the artists of the swing era continued to perform and create new music, oftentimes embracing these new contemporary styles while retaining a connection to their musical roots. This residency will focus on the work of artists such as Count Basie, Benny Carter, Roy Eldridge, Coleman Hawkins, Ben Webster, and more! Jeremy will be joined by Kevin Bollinger (trumpet), Tom Amend (piano), Drew Morell (bass), and Todd Reid (drums).
